Revising expenditures in Latvia: EUR 53.6 mln to be put aside to finance ministries' priorities in 2021

After revising ministries' expenditure projections for 2021, EUR 53.6 million will be earmarked to finance ministries' priorities next year, the Finance Ministry informed the government on August 18th, cites LETA.
The Cabinet today heard the Finance Ministry's report on revising budget expenditure projections for 2021, 2022 and 2023.
After revising budget expenditures, EUR 53.6 million will be set aside in the 2021 budget, of which EUR 13.1 million will go to improving the overall fiscal space, and EUR 40.5 million to ministries' priorities next year.
According to the Finance Ministry, budget expenditures are revised annually as part of the work on the state budget for next year. This year, revising budget expenditures comprised analysis of functions financed from the state budget, analysis of ministries' financing policies, and analysis of medium-term expenditures.
