Belarus is interested in Estonia’s oil shale technology

Print versionChief Consul of Belarus in Estonia Aljaksandr Ostrovski stated that Belarus is interested in having Estonian entrepreneurs participate in elaborating in major investment projects, including in exploiting the oil shale reserves in Belarus, writes the National Broadcasting/LETA.

Consul Ostrovski who is ending his term of office in Estonia stated that in the past four years, the bilateral trade volume between Estonia and Belarus grew by more than three times, amounting to 400 million dollars last year.
Belarus exported goods to Estonia for more than 330 million U.S. dollars and not including the CIS countries, Estonia ranks ninth among major trade partners of Belarus.
“Estonian businessmen are still very interested in investing into the Republic of Belarus,” said Ostrovski, adding that these are mostly direct investments, not credits or bank loans.
