Germany's Nordex Energy SE & Co. KG has won a contract to build Ignitis Grupe's wind farm in Lithuania's northwestern district of Mazeikiai and maintain it for 15 years, reports LETA/BNS.
VVP Investment, a company controlled by Ignitis Renewables, signed on Monday a contract worth 77.5 million euros, not including VAT, with the German-based company for the supply of turbines, construction and maintenance services, the state-controlled energy group said on Tuesday.
Fourteen wind turbines are planned to be installed in the Mazeikiai wind farm with a total capacity of 63 megawatts by the end of 2022.
Under the contract, Nordex Energy SE & Co. KG will service and maintain the turbines for 15 years after the win farm is built.
Ignitis Grupe bought VVP Investment, the developer of the Mazeikiai wind farm, for 1.962 million euros in late 2018.
The group targets 4 gigawatts of installed green generation capacity by 2030.
