Klaipedos Nafta launches annual LNG terminal capacity allocation procedure

Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil) is launching a procedure for the allocation of the Klaipeda liquefied natural gas terminal's capacities for the new gas year starting October 1, 2016, informs LETA/BNS.

The LNG facility's operator announced the launch of the annual capacity allocation procedure in a statement to the Nasdaq Vilnius stock exchange on Monday, setting a May 25 deadline for potential users to submit their requests.

 

The total volume of capacities being allocated for the gas year 2017 amounts to 3.75 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas, or 6.5 million cubic meters of LNG.

 

The current users of the LNG terminal are the gas trade companies Litgas and Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas (Lithuanian Gas Supply) and the fertilizer manufacturer Achema. Some 1.09 bcm out of the terminal's maximum capacity of 3.75 bcm are currently being used.

 

Based on the LNG terminal's schedule for the gas year 2016, it is forecast that the LNG volume at the terminal will be around 137,000 cubic meters at the beginning of the next gas year.
