The book – a selection of works by Eduard Vilde, Estonia's first professional writers, had been borrowed from the library on the same date – March 7 – in 1944.
The borrower was a man born in 1928. He apologized for the delay, blaming the confusion ensuing from the Russian air raid of March 9, 1944, when Tallinn was bombed.
