Book returned to Tallinn library 69 years after due date

BC, Tallinn, 08.03.2013.Print version
A book was returned to the Tallinn Central Library 69 years later than it should have happened, the Estonian national broadcasting corporation ERR said referring to a statement made by the Library's employees on its Facebook timeline, writes LETA.

The book – a selection of works by Eduard Vilde, Estonia's first professional writers, had been borrowed from the library on the same date – March 7 – in 1944.

The borrower was a man born in 1928. He apologized for the delay, blaming the confusion ensuing from the Russian air raid of March 9, 1944, when Tallinn was bombed.
