President of Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania met the 5th president of The Juilliard School

On Thursday November 15, President Zigmas Lydeka of Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania met Dr. Joseph Polisi, the 5th president of The Juilliard School. This meeting was organized by representatives of VMU's North American office, Dr. Edvinas Minkstimas, a former graduate of the Juilliard School, and Rokas Beresniovas.

Also present were Vice President of the Juilliard School and director of Juilliard Global, Dr. Christopher Mossey, and Associate Dean Adam Meyer. Dean Meyer came to Lithuania in September to celebrate the memorandum of understanding signed by the two schools to promote future collaboration and exchanges, informs BC VMU‘s press service.

The Juilliard School is one of leading arts conservatories in the world, having produced some of world’s greatest musicians, actors and dancers, including  Herbie Hancock, Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Emanuel Ax, and Jerome Lowenthal. Vytautas Magnus University is the first partner institution for the Juilliard School in Eastern Europe.

As part of President Lydeka's visit to New York, the Consul General of Lithuania, Mr. Valdemaras Sarapinas, also held a reception in honor of VDU and President Lydeka at the Consulate General for the Republic of Lithuania in New York.
