BC, Riga, 16.06.2017.Print version
EUR 6.5 million will be invested in extension of the International School of Latvia, the school’s representatives reported.

The construction works will be conducted by BMGS builder.

"Even though the school building and premises are in good condition, they do not fully meet further needs of the school and pupils," said the school’s director George Robinson.

The new extension will provide an auditorium, performing arts center, music practice space, music and visual arts classrooms, design technology and science labs, greenhouse, home-base for students with special needs, multifunctional outdoor sports field, improved playground, and additional classrooms.

Changes will be made also to the existing building, including a renovated media center, renovated office, reception and lobby area, and extended cafeteria space and terrace.

All construction works should be completed by September 2018.

The existing school building was built seven years ago and was planned for 280 pupils, while now there are more than 360 pupils in the school, aged 3-18, representing more than 30 countries.

The International School of Latvia was founded in 1994.
