UT's Narva college, Russian university to intensify cooperation

Representatives of the Narva College of the University of Tartu and the Pskov State University of Russia are set to sign an operating program for this year at Narva College on February 11th that calls for the continuation of intense cooperation between the two universities, reports LETA/BNS.

The purpose of the cooperation is to exchange know-how and experience in different fields related to the universities, spokespeople for Narva College said.

 

In accordance with the cooperation agreement between Narva College and the Pskov State University, students of the Pskov State University can attend courses in fundamentals of project management and theory and practice of translation at the Narva College of the University of Tartu, and attend Narva College as exchange students under the Erasmus program in the future. Besides they can take part in conferences and other events organized by Narva College.

 

The director of the Narva College of the University of Tartu, Kristina Kallas, said cooperation with the Pskov State University allows to advance the competency of the college in teaching Russian as a foreign language.

 

"Already for two years have American students learned Russian in the summer school of Narva College, and it's one of our goals to develop in Narva a center for continuing education in Russian as a foreign language. The knowledge and skills of our Pskov colleagues are helping us do it."
