Aeroflot flight to Moscow given permission to depart from Riga Airport

Transport Minister Talis Linkaits (New Conservative Party) has given permission to allow a Aeroflot flight to depart from Riga International Airport to Moscow, the ministry informs.

The Aeroflot flight SU 2101 from Riga to Moscow  depared on Tuesday at 1:05 p.m.

This same flight has also been permitted to depart from Riga Airport on March 18 and March 19.


At the same time, an airBaltic flights from Tenerife in Spain has been permitted to land at Riga Airport this afternoon.


Also, three Stenaline ferries from Germany have also been permitted to dock at Liepaja port - the first will depart Germany on March 17, the second will depart on March 23, while the third - on March 24.


As reported, in an effort to prevent Covid-19 from spreading further in Latvia, a state of emergency came into force on March 13, setting a number of tough restrictions. The state of emergency is in force until April 14.


Also, the government decided that all international passenger transportation will be suspended from March 17 to April 14. This includes all international air, rail, sea and road passenger transportation.
