Russian Federation government's press service informed the Estonian national television of that. The government will submit the Russian president a proposal to sign the agreements.

Estonia welcomed the decision of Russia. "After the border agreements' bill received the approval of governments of both states, foreign ministers can sign the agreements at a time suitable for them," Estonian foreign ministry PR department said.

Before that happens, President Vladimir Putin has to approve of the government's proposal.

"This process has finally reached the home stretch and signing the border agreement is not far away now," said Riigikogu foreign affairs committe chairman Marko Mihkelson.

Estonian and Russian foreign ministers Urmas Paet and Sergei Lavrov have a chance of agreeing upon the time of signing the border agreement already this week at the UN General Assembly meeting in USA.

The agreement will most likely be signed in Tallinn.
