On Friday Azubalis met with troops of Poland Air Force who are currently carrying out the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission in Lithuania. The minister thanked them for their service and highlighted the importance of the Lithuanian-Polish cooperation in the field of security responding to common challenges, writes LETA/ELTA.

"Lithuanian Vytis [the white knight] and Poland's Eagle have graced shields of our soldier for ages, we must continue to hold together firmly in response to new threats posed in the 21 century," said Azubalis.

According to the minister, the Poland's military service in Lithuania and successful bilateral co-operation in the region confirms that "the freedom of both countries can only be secured if Lithuania and Poland keep together."

Lithuanian Foreign Minister presented Polish troops with a set of postal stamps issued with the motif of Janas Mateikis painting The Battle of Grunwald.
