Persons who are not wearing face masks will not be let in public premises, and service providers will not be allowed to serve such persons, writes LETA, according to the amendments to the epidemiological safety measures adopted by Latvian government on November 17th, 2020.

The Health Ministry said that there are still a number of persons who are not wearing face masks in public premises, such as shopping centers, thus, subjecting themselves and other persons to infection risks.

"In order to prevent ban on certain business sectors or excessive restrictions, it is necessary to ensure that the organizer of an event or business service provider is not allowed to provide services to a person who does not comply with epidemiological safety requirements," the ministry said.

At the same time, the organizer of the event, business service provider or the owner of the building will have to ensure that persons without face masks are not allowed to enter the building.

The amendments will come into force on November 19.
