The specialist underlined that the CDC treats all countries equally, be it Lithuania or any other country of the world, and if Lithuania is included in the "yellow list", returnees from this country will be required to self-isolate for two weeks. 

Dimina noted that there have already been cases of Covid-19 being imported from Lithuania and Estonia. 

The CDC representative said that Latvia's comparatively low Covid-19 rate cannot be a reason for complacency and that Latvia too must be prepared for new outbreaks. We cannot be sure how the situation might unfold in the next few days, and we must not ignore what is going on elsewhere in Europe, Dimina said. 

In her words, more than half of the Covid-19 cases recorded in Latvia over the past week had been imported from abroad, while most other cases were contacts of these infected travelers. 

The number of new Covid-19 cases rose in Latvia in the outgoing week, an the day that 18 people tested positive for the infection was especially unpleasant. However, the CDC managed to trace all these cases to three separate outbreaks, the CDC representative said.
