Export engine Enterprise Estonia posts a record year 2009

Estonian state-owned export promoting agency Enterprise Estonia had record operating volumes in 2009, as its budget amounted to 4.5 billion kroons, LETA/Postimees Online reports. Enterprise Estonia approved of its 2009 audited budget yesterday.

“In 2009, Enterprise Estonia reacted fast and flexibly to the poor economic situation – the financial volumes of activities were increased considerably on account of future periods, requirements of application were simplified for entrepreneurs and new support programmes were launched,” said Enterprise Estonia council chairman Mart Einasto.

 

The milestones of 2009 for the agency were investment decision amounting to nearly one billion kroons into eight technology development centres, opening the visitestonia.com information portal and activities to introduce Estonia as a travel destination. Major means focussed on developing exports, increased interest towards Estonia as a destination country for foreign investments and launching creative economy support structures support scheme.

 

The planned volume of activities of Enterprise Estonia in 2010 is 4 bln kroons.
