Latvia registers fourth highest inflation in EU in October

Latvia's annual inflation was 0.7% in October (same as in Malta, Germany, and the Czech Republic), which is the fourth highest level among all European Union (EU) member states, according to latest data published by Eurostat, cites LETA.

21 member states registered annual inflation, one member state registered no change, five countries registered deflation. No information on Great Britain was available.

 

The highest inflation level in October was fixed in Romania – 1.8%, Austria – 1.4%, and Finland – 1.2%.

 

Annual deflation was registered in Greece – 1.8%, Bulgaria – 1.5%, Hungary and Poland – 0.3%, and Spain – 0.2%.

 

Slovakia registered no changes.

 

Estonia's annual inflation was 0.5% (same as in France and Croatia), which is the fifth highest level among all EU member states.

 

Lithuania's annual inflation was 0.3% in October (same as in Sweden, Cyprus, Denmark, and Belgium), which is the seventh highest level in the EU.

 

Euro area annual inflation was 0.4% in October, up from 0.3% in September.

 

European Union annual inflation was 0.5% in October, up from 0.4% in September.
