The total value of property owned by the 100 wealthiest individuals in Latvia has increased by EUR 300 million in one year, reaching EUR 2.87 billion, according to the latest "Latvia's TOP 100 Wealthiest People 2013", cites LETA.

Those making the list say that these results demonstrate a steady growth and stability. "If the average Latvian resident starts to doubt such economic situation comparing it with his or her own personal budget, the situation among millionaires is at least evident," journalist Lato Lapsa says.

Six years ago, the total value of properties owned by the "golden hundred" or TOP 100 wealthies, was EUR 4.51 billion. Two years ago, the figure was EUR 2.42 billion, last year – EUR 2.52 billion.

This year, the sums have grown, reaching more than EUR 2.87 billion.

"Is it safe to say that the list has become more or less stable and predictable? Such an assumption would be wrong, taking into account the current geopolitical situation. Thus, the next year's "TOP 100" could bring even more surprises," says Vadims Jerosenko, one of the authors of the list.
