Vilnius accommodated 60.9% foreign tourists in H1 in Lithuania

Print versionStatistics Lithuania informs that in the first half of 2014 year-on-year the number of guests increased in accommodation establishments of every county. Compared with the first half of 2013, the number of tourists grew the most in Utena County (77.8%), the least in Alytus County (3.2%), informs LETA/ELTA.
In the first half of 2014, most tourists (458,400) were accommodated in Vilnius County, followed by Klaipeda (192,300), Alytus (140,700) and Kaunas (133,800) Counties.
60.9% of all foreign tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of Vilnius County. 12.5% of foreigners stayed in accommodation establishments in Klaipeda, 11.9% in Kaunas and 9.1% in Alytus.

Most guests (424,200) stayed in accommodation establishments of Vilnius city.
In the discussed period as much as 86% of all tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of major cities and resorts. 642,000 or 61.9% of all guests stayed in accommodation establishments of major cities, Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys. 469,400 of them or 80% were foreigners.
