Prices for fresh meat and fruits in Lithuania increased most in July

According to the monitoring of the prices of 100 most popular goods and services carried out by Lithuania Statistics, prices for fresh meat and fruits increased most in July 2014, reports LETA/ELTA.

Having summarised statistical data, an increase in prices for fresh meat products was most often observed in July: price for bone-in pork leg increased by 0.1%, bone-in pork loin – by 0.4%, broiler chickens – by 1.4%, turkey breast fillet – by 0.9%, minced pork – by 1.9%. Meanwhile, prices for boneless beef ham declined by 0.1%, while prices for processed meat products remained unchanged.

 

In July prices for fruits increased as well: prices for bananas rose by 1.4%, oranges – by 7.3%, apples – by 4.5%, only prices for green seedless grapes declined by 20.3%.

 

Changes in prices for vegetables were also observed: prices for red beets rose by 10.2%, onions – by 6.7%, sauerkraut – by 2.3%. Meanwhile, prices for carrots went down by 22.9%, prices for white headed cabbages – by 31.8% and prices for potatoes – 26%.
