Lithuania's GDP up 3% in Q2

Statistics Lithuania informs that in the second quarter 2014 country's gross domestic product (GDP), estimated based on available statistical data and econometric models, amounted to LTL 31316 million (EUR 9069.8 million) at current prices. Compared to the same period of 2013, the real GDP change, seasonally and working day adjusted, stood at 3.0% (working days unadjusted, GDP grew by 3.1%), informs LETA.

In the second quarter 2014, the growth in GDP was mainly conditioned by the reviving construction and manufacturing sectors, transportation and storage, as well as wholesale and retail trade.


Statistics Lithuania, based on more detailed quarterly data and having estimated the value added by a more detailed list of economic activities, revised the GDP second estimate for the first quarter 2014. According to the revised data, in the first quarter 2014, GDP made LTL 27740 million (EUR 8034 million) at current prices; against the same quarter of 2013, it grew by 3.11% (the previously released GDP equalled LTL 27694 million (EUR 8021 million), and its change made up 3.01%).
