500 police officers protected the Lithuanian Seimas
According to the police representative, one person was detained for keeping a knuckleduster, other two – for hiding their faces. One of the detained people resisted police officers, thus, a case against him is being prepared for court.
During the unsanctioned protest action, the Seimas was surrounded by a protective fence of over one-kilometer length, which had been rented by the Vilnius City Municipality for over 5,000 litas (1,444 euros). The fence and police officers protected the palace of the Parliament from about 200 people, including about 50 of mostly retired people, supporters of Vytautas Sustauskas, leader of the Lithuanian Freedom Movement, from Kaunas, a small group of the members of the party Frontas, which held the action, and curious passersby.
