UNICEF: Estonia is on the 23rd position on wellbeing of children of developing states, ahead of neighbours
The list took into account the material wellbeing of children, their health and safety, education, behavior, risks and home conditions and surrounding environment.
The top positions in the list went to Holland, Norway, Iceland, Finland and Germany.
The indicators of Estonian children were the best in the sphere of education.
The report card is the result of research carried out between 2001 and 2010. It shows that while Ireland has a relatively low child poverty rate of 8.5%, it has one of the largest child poverty gaps for those children who do fall below the poverty line. The research also found that 83% of Irish children find it easiest to talk to their mothers, followed by their fathers (68%).
The top list doesn’t include developed states like Australia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Japan, Malta or New Zealand since not all of the necessary data was available or them.
