In January, construction input prices in Lithuania increased by 4.9% y-o-y

Statistics Lithuania informs that construction input prices in January 2013, against December 2012, increased by 0.1%. Over the year (in January 2013, against January 2012), construction input prices increased by 4.9%.

The change was mainly influenced by a 0.3% increase in prices for building materials and products and by a 0.2% decrease in wages and salaries.

 

As for building materials and products, the largest price increase over the month was observed for various types of concrete and mortar – by 0.9, electrical engineering materials – 0.8, wood products – 0.7%, while prices for pipes decreased by 0.2%.

 

As for structures, prices for the construction of roads and streets increased the most (by 0.4%).

Over the year (in January 2013, against January 2012), construction input prices increased by 4.9%. The price change was determined by an increase in wages and salaries – by 10.9, building materials and products – 3.4%.

 

As for building materials and products, the most noticeable price increase over the year was observed for insulation materials – by 5.3, building materials – 5, various types of concrete and mortar – 5.1, finishing materials – 4.9%.

 

Over the year, the largest increase in prices for structures – by 5.8% – was observed in prices for the construction of waste water pipelines and roads and streets.

The influence on the overall change in construction input prices is determined not only by the rate of change of the construction input component price but also by the relative share of that component in the total value of construction.
