Unemployment rate in Estonia grew by 13% in a month in October 2008

As of end of October, there were 22,598 unemployed persons registered in the Labour Market Board, writes the National Broadcasting/LETA.

This is by 2,583 individuals more – i.e. by 12.9% more than a month before.
In comparison to October 31, 2007, the number of unemployed persons grew by 68.3%, reported the Labour Market Board.
The registered unemployment rate was the highest in the Võru County (6.7% of the labour force of working age), in the Ida-Viru County (6.4%) in the Valga County (6.4%) and in the Põlva County (5.4%).
Unemployment level was the lowest in the Tartu County, in the Hiiu County and in the Harju County (2.4%, 2.5% and 2.8% respectively).
