Estonia records one of the highest annual inflation in August

Annual inflation in Latvia was at 1.9% this past August, the third lowest across the European Union, according to the latest data from the EU statistical office Eurostat.

The lowest annual inflation was recorded in Sweden – 0.9%, and Greece – 1.2%. Hungary had the highest annual inflation in August – six%, followed by Cyprus – 4.5%, and Estonia – 4.2%, writes LETA.

 

Lithuania's annual inflation was at 3.4% in August.

 

Compared to July, the annual inflation level in August reduced in two member states, increased in 20 and stayed put in four.

 

Annual inflation in the EU was 2.7% in August, compared to 2.5% in July.

 

Annual inflation in the eurozone was 2.6% in August, compared to 2.4% in July.

 

Compared to the previous month, consumer prices in the EU increased 0.4%, and in the eurozone – 0.4%.

 

In comparison with July, consumer prices in Latvia decreased 0.4% in August. Lithuania's consumer prices saw a 0.2% increase, Estonia's grew 0.3%.
