Latvia's GDP per capita third lowest in EU in 2011

Print versionThe gross domestic product (GDP) per capita expressed in terms of purchasing power standards in Latvia was 58% of the average GDP per capita in the European Union last year, or the third lowest in the EU, according to the EU statistical office Eurostat data released today.

On the other hand, Bulgaria registered the lowest GDP per capita in the EU last year – 45% of the EU average. Romania registered 49% of the EU average last year, writes LETA.
Lithuania had the fourth lowest GDP per capita in the EU in 2011 – 62% of the EU average, while Estonia had the seventh lowest – 67% of the EU average.
