Latvians see not leaving country as true "patriotism"; Russians – paying taxes

Print versionA recent survey shows that 41% of Latvians consider not leaving the country as the most important reflection of patriotism, while 43% of Russian-speakers believe it to be honest work, paying taxes and personal contribution to the nation's well-being.
The survey was conducted this month by DNB Latvijas barometrs.
Latvians also consider a reflection of patriotism the will to defend the nation against enemy attack, if necessary (38%) and knowledge of Latvian history (36%), reports LETA.
