Latvia and Estonia are among EU leaders in industrial production growth in June

Compared to May, industrial production in Latvia increased by 13.3% in June 2010, which is the fourth steepest monthly increase among European Union (EU) countries, according to Eurostat data released on Thursday.

Slovakia registered the largest monthly increase in industrial production in June – by 23.9%, followed by Estonia – 20.7%, and Finland – 14.1%, informs LETA.

 

In the month-on-month comparison Estonia also ranked second with 2.6%, staying behind Lithuania with its 3% growth. Estonia was ahead of Romania and France which increased its industrial production by 1.9% in comparison to the month of May.

 

Industrial production increased in all EU member states except Greece in June, which registered a 5.5% reduction.

 

The EU-27 change in industrial production in the month-on-month comparison was stable and in the year-on-year comparison it was 7.7%.
