Lithuania's accommodation industry posts 72% fall in Q2

Lithuania's accommodation establishments saw the total number of tourist stays plunge 72% in the second quarter of 2020 compared with a year ago to 308,200, the latest figures from the country's statistics office, Statistics Lithuania, showed on August 24th, cites LETA/BNS.
The number went down 51.9% in the first half of this year.
The number of foreign tourists fell 91.3 23.8% to 47,400, and the number of Lithuanian visitors went down by 52.9% to 260,800.
As Lithuanian was placed under coronavirus lockdown, accommodation establishments saw their tourists numbers drop 89.7 in April, 81.3% in May and 52.6% in June 2020.
Most of the tourists accommodated by hotels, guest houses and motels came from Ukraine and other EU members states.
