BC, Vilnius, 17.08.2020.Print version
Registered unemployment in Lithuania reached 13.3% on Monday, the highest level this year so far, following several weeks of stability, the Unemployment Service said LETA/BNS.
The figure jumped from 12.8% on August 1. The number of registered unemployed people rose to 229,300 as of August 17, up from 221,000 two weeks earlier.
Some 10.7% of those who have filed for unemployment since the start of the month worked in the retail sector, 10.4% in the manufacturing industry, and 6.2% in construction.
Job-seeking allowances were among the factors behind the growth in registered unemployment, the service noted.
