Construction input prices in Lithuania decreased by 11.0% in May y-o-y

Statistics Lithuania informs that construction input prices in May 2009, as compared to April, decreased by 0.5%. Over the year (May 2009, against May 2008), construction input prices decreased by 11.0%.

In May 2009, against April, the strongest impact on the total construction input price change was made by a 1.1% decrease in prices for building materials and products, as well as a 0.8% increase in wages and salaries and overheads. The overall price change was also influenced by a 0.4% decrease in hourly labour costs on operation of construction machines and mechanisms.

 

The change in prices for building materials and products was mostly conditioned by a 2.5% decrease in prices for metallic products, 2.3% - pipes, 0.6% – basic building materials. Prices for wood products and insulation materials in May decreased by 1.6%, windows and doors – 1.1%, finishing materials – 0.8%, various kinds of concrete and mortar – 0.7%.

 

Over the year (May 2009, against May 2008), construction input prices decreased by 11.0%.
