The industrial producer prices in Estonia decreased slightly in April

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2018, the producer price index of industrial output changed by -0.5% compared to March and by 2.1% compared to April 2017.

In April, compared to the previous month, the producer price index was affected more than average by a decrease in prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and in the manufacture of electronic equipment but also by an increase in prices in the manufacture of furniture, fuel oils and chemicals.

Compared to April 2017, the index was affected more than average by an increase in prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and in the manufacture of wood and furniture, but also by a decrease in prices in the manufacture of electronic equipment.

In April 2018, the export price index changed by 0.3% compared to March and by 1.2% compared to April 2017.

In April, compared to the previous month, the prices of oil and peat products and furniture increased more than average, while the prices of electricity, parts and accessories for motor vehicles and wood products decreased.

In April 2018, the import price index changed by 0.4% compared to March and by 1.7% compared to April 2017.

In April, compared to the previous month, the prices of leather products, footwear and oil products increased more than average, while the prices of electricity, electrical equipment and forestry products decreased.

The statistics are based on the questionnaires “Producer price”, ”Export price” and “Import price”, the deadline of which was 6 May 2018. Statistics Estonia published the monthly summary in ten working days. For the statistical activities “Producer price index of industrial output”, “Export price index” and “Import price index”, the main representative of public interest is the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, commissioned by whom Statistics Estonia collects and analyses the data necessary for conducting the statistical activities.
