Industrial production in the eurozone rose by 3.8% in August y-o-y

Industrial production in the eurozone rose 3.8% on year in August compared and increased 1.4% compared to July 2017. Industrial production in the European Union in August rose 3.9% on year and 1.7% compared to the previous month, it can be seen from data published by Eurostat, reports LETA/BNS.

Industrial production in Estonia in August 2017 rose 4.7% compared to August 2016, but remained the same compared to July 2017. Industrial production increased the most on year in Lithuania by 13.1%, in Latvia by 12.1% and in Romania by 10.3%. A 1.8% decreased was recorded in the Netherlands.


Compared to July 2017, industrial production grew the most in the Czech Republic, by 14.3%, followed by Malta with 5.4% and Portugal with 4.7%. The biggest decrease, 2.3%, was recorded in the Netherlands, followed by Sweden with 1.8% and France and Finland with a decrease of 0.4% each.


Compared to the previous month, the production of capital goods in the eurozone rose 3.1%, the production of durable consumer goods increased by 1.3%, the production of intermediate goods by 1.2% and the production of energy by 0.2%, while the production of non-durable consumer goods remained stable.
