The economic climate indicator calculated by the Estonian Institute of Economic Research moved up almost 50% during the three months ending September 201, reports LETA/BNS.

The value of the index rose from 43.6 points in June to 64.2 points in September.

According to the panel of experts of the Estonian Institute of Economic Research, the economic situation of Estonia was good in September and is expected to keep getting better.

"Estonia's economic success rests largely on the positive changes that have taken place in the economy of the European Union, decrease in political uncertainty and economic development of Estonia's main trading partners. The acceleration of economic growth has been upheld also by domestic factors: high level of employment, increase in residents' incomes, development of private consumption," said the director of the Institute of Economic Research, Marje Josing.

The outcome of the survey shows an improvement in virtually all areas.

"The three biggest problems for the economy are shortage of skilled labor, lagging innovation and insufficient competitiveness," Josing added.
