The majority Latvian employees attend conferences or training or meet with clients and partners during their business trips, but more often they choose to combine business trip with leisure, writes LETA, according to a poll conducted by Baltic Travel Group tourism agency and Russian airline Aeroflot.

Employees go in business trips on a regular basis – to the Baltic states (72%) and other destinations.

51% of respondents said that the most important thing in their business trips is convenient communication opportunities, including fast internet. At the same time, almost half or 43% of respondents believe that convenient commute is a very important factor.

When being on a business trip, the majority of employees also take the opportunity to go on excursions (67%) and try to find time to learn more about the city. Almost every fourth respondent would like to combine city tours with job tasks, but is not able to do that.

Baltic Travel Group and Aeroflot surveyed 350 people who have been on a business trip in the past six months. The survey was conducted in August. Respondents represent such sectors as education and science, public administration and local government, trade and services, construction and real estate, information and communication technologies, financial services, medicine, pharmacy and manufacturing.
