Estonia's industrial production growth biggest in EU in July

In June 2017, the seasonally adjusted industrial production grew 2.6% on year in the eurozone and 2.9% in the European Union, and the biggest increase in the EU was recorded in Estonia, informs LETA/BNS.

Compared with June 2016, the eurozone's industrial production fell 0.6% and EU's 0.5%, it can be seen from data published by Eurostat on August 14th.

 

The biggest increase in industrial production among eurozone countries compared to June 2016 was recorded in Estonia, Romania and Sweden - respectively 14.5%, 11.5% and 8.9%. At the same time, the indicator fell 8.1% in Ireland and 1.3% in Malta.

 

The increase in the industrial production of the eurozone is due to production of energy rising by 5.1%, durable consumer goods by 4%, intermediate goods by 3.8%, capital goods by 1.6% and non-durable consumer goods by 0.6%.

 

In monthly comparison the biggest increase in the EU was recorded in Luxembourg where it totaled 3.4%, while Estonia, Croatia and the Netherlands followed with 1.2% each.
