Estonia and Lithuania post EU's highest annual inflation in May

Print versionEstonia and Lithuania registered the EU's highest annual inflation rates for May, figures from the EU statistical office Eurostat showed on Friday.

Annual inflation last month reached 3.2% in Lithuania, the
second-highest rate after Estonia's 3.5%. Inflation in Latvia was somewhat
lower, at 2.7%.
Positive annual inflation last month was recorded in all EU
member states, except for Ireland, which posted a zero inflation rate.
Annual inflation stood at 1.4% in the euro area and at 1.6%
in the whole of the EU.
