Q1 profit of Estonian ICT sector drops 48% on year

Print versionThe total profit of the Estonian information and communications technology (ICT) sector in the first quarter of 2017 was 19.5 mln euros, 47.9% smaller than in the same quarter of 2016, figures available from Statistics Estonia show.

Compared with the final quarter of 2016, the sector's total
profit fell 30.5%.
Sales by companies of the ICT sector totaled 808.3 mln euros
in the first quarter, 1.6% less than in the first quarter of 2016 and 8.8% less
than in the final quarter of 2016.
The sector's enterprises employed on the average 23,693
people during the period, 2,209 more than the year before.
Wage costs of the sector, 148.3 mln euros, were 7.4%
higher than in the first quarter of 2016.
