Eurozone unemployment rate growth is highest in Estonia

Unemployment rate in the eurozone was 9.8% in October which is the lowest indicator since July 2009, while the highest unemployment rate growth was registered in Estonia, reports LETA/BNS.

In the European Union the number of unemployed people declined by 1.78 mln compared with October 2015.


The lowest unemployment rate in the EU was recorded in the Czech Republic and Germany -- respectively 3.8% and 4.1%  -- while the highest unemployment rate was registered in Greece and Spain, totaling respectively 23.4% and 19.2%.


Compared with October 2015 the unemployment rate fell in 24 EU countries, remained unchanged in Italy, and the highest growth was recorded in Estonia where unemployment increased from 5.7% to 7.2%.


The biggest decline in unemployment was recorded in Croatia and Spain, falling from 16.1% to 12.7% and from 21.2% to 19.2%, respectively.
