Äripäev Online: when commenting on the decision made by the EU leaders to increase the Eastern European credit line to 50 billion euros, the Minister of Finances Ivari Padar stated that initially, at least, Estonia does not intend to ask money from this aid package, writes LETA.

Ivari Padar

"If we will operate with solid discipline and control our consumption – that includes the State level – I would like to believe that we will not have to use this credit line," said Padar.

At the same time, the minister did not deny that the State cash flow is still negative on the day-to-day basis which means that Estonia spends more money that is received from monthly tax revenue. He did not rule out the option that Estonia might draft a new negative supplementary budget.

Padar noted that it is likely that the loan application sent by the Ministry of Finances to the European Investment Bank will receive a response in April or May.
