Statistics Lithuania forecasts that the country this month will record a minus 0.1% EU-harmonized monthly inflation rate, informs LETA/BNS.

The annual inflation rate, as measured by the EU Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), will probably be minus 0.4% and the average annual inflation rate is likely to be minus 0.7%, the statistics office said on Monday.

It expects that a decline prices for transport, clothing and footwear, and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels will be largely offset by an increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic drinks and tobacco, and prices in the group of miscellaneous goods and services.

The country last month registered a 0.5% monthly inflation rate, as measured by the HICP. The 12-month inflation rate stood at minus 0.7% and the average annual inflation rate at minus 0.9%.
