A student of the Public Administration Academy in Estonia and police officer Nadezhda Kartavtseva studied the patterns of drug use among ninth-graders in her Bachelor's thesis, writes LETA/Eesti Päevaleht.

She found in her survey that while young people know about dangers involved in drug use, they are still prone to try them at least once.

Kartavtseva's anonymous survey carried out among ninth-graders in six schools in Tallinn revealed that among both Estonian-speaking pupils as well as Russian-speaking ones nearly a fourth of the young persons have consumed drugs.
