Latvia posted EU's second largest increase in industrial production in May

Print versionIndustrial production in Latvia in May 2015, compared with May of last year, has increased by 6.5%, and was second the steepest increase in the EU, reports LETA, according to Eurostat.

Malta registered the largest increase in industrial production year-on-year – by 9.5%, followed by Latvia, and Hungary – 6.2%.
Meanwhile, the largest reduction was registered in the Netherlands – by 7/4%, followed by the Finland – 5.1%, and Ireland – 5%.
Lithuania saw a 2.2% increase in industrial production year-on-year, while Estonia registered a 2.3% drop.
18 countries registered an increase in industrial production, while six countries registered reductions.
Industrial production in May in the EU increase by two% when compared to May of 2014, but in the eurozone – by 1.6%.
