Print versionHealth Minister Guntis Belevics (Greens/Farmers) has a vision of a healthy population of Latvia in 50 years, Latvian President Andris Berzins said in an interview with the LNT show "900 sekundes" this morning, cites LETA.

The president will have a meeting with the minister next week, March 26. During the meeting, the president expects to hear the minister's plan on how to achieve this vision. The president wants to know the planned tasks aimed at fixing the current healthcare system, given the comparatively "modest" increase in funding for healthcare.
Berzins believes that this vision is aggressive and implausible, as no "cure-all" has been found.
This is why the state must do everything in its power for the children in Latvia to be healthy.
