Reductions of producer prices were registered in a majority EU countries in November

In November 2014, producer prices in Latvia reduced 0.3% from October, according to the latest report released by the EU statistical office Eurostat. Reductions were registered in a majority of EU countries, writes LETA.

The largest monthly reduction in producer prices was registered in Greece and Cyprus – by 1.4% each, followed by Ireland – by 1.3%, Estonia – by 1.2%, as well as Lithuania, Spain and the Netherlands – by 1.1% each.

 

Increases in producer prices was only registered in Slovakia – by 0.3%, but in Germany producer prices remained unchanged.

 

In all the EU member states for which data are available, producer prices decreased 0.4% in November from October, and the eurozone recorded a 0.3% drop.

 

Compared to November 2013, producer prices in the EU decreased 1.8% and in the eurozone 1.6%.

 

In year-on-year comparison, producer prices only increased in Romania, by 0.5%, and Bulgaria – by 0.3%.

 

The greatest decreases were registered in Lithuania – 6.6%, the Netherlands – 4.5%, and Denmark – by 4.2%.

 

Producer prices in Latvia, year-on-year, decreased 0.3% in November, but Estonia saw a 3% reduction.
