The Latvian television technology company VESet will present its new "TV channel in the cloud" solution at IBC in Amsterdam September 7-11.

The solution, which is new for the European and global market, allows a functioning TV channel in SD or HD quality to be built on a virtual Amazon AWS server "in the cloud". The solution allows playout of video files, live broadcasts, the addition of subtitles, titles and animated graphics, as well as planning content several weeks in advance – all from a single user interface.

The outgoing stream can be prepared simultaneously for high definition up to 50Mbps and for web-quality viewing on PCs and mobile devices. The stream can be sent to any location in the world using Apple's HLS format and distribution through the Amazon Cloud Front network, with mirror servers in the US, Europe, Asia and South America.

The solution allows new channel start-ups with almost no investment in broadcast infrastructure, staff or software licenses. For existing channels, this offers a backup server in case of disaster.

Veset was founded in Riga, Latvia in 2011 and provides IT solutions for the TV industry.
