This is mostly thanks to the large-scale optic network infrastructure development project by the communication company Lattelecom, as the company's representatives told the business information portal "Nozare.lv".
The number of clients in Riga connected to Lattelecom optic-fiber lines was over 5000 at the beginning of this month, writes LETA.
This is a fantastic figure and an excellent business achievement; it proves that the strategic decision of Lattelecom to invest in the development of optic network infrastructure was right, said Lattelecom Commercial Director Kerli Gabrilovica. The number of optic lines in Latvia is increasing rapidly, primarily thanks to the development of Lattelecom optic lines. Lattelecom believes that optic lines will allow Latvia to reach Estonia and Lithuania's level of Internet penetration already in 2010, said Gabrilovica.
