The malware that has been spreading globally of late has hit two companies of the Saint-Gobain group in Estonia, including the DIY chain Ehituse ABC, the Estonian Information System Authority (RIA) said LETA/BNS on Wednesday.

"As at 10 a.m. today no company providing a vital service or a state institution had informed us about falling victim to a cyber attack. The RIA cyber security incidents service CERT-EE is working actively to chart and analyze potential incidents," CERT-EE manager Klaid Magi told BNS at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday.

RIA has asked companies whose systems are affected to inform it by making a call to the CERT-EE emergency telephone number 663 0299 or sending an e-mail to [email protected].

Several countries in Europe and major U.S. and European corporations said on Tuesday that they had fallen victim to a cyber attack that had got its start in Russia and Ukraine.

The DIY chain Ehituse ABC had to close all its stores across Estonia as a result of the malware attack on Wednesday.
