News of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry are available in the Polish language as of Wednesday – a new Polish-language version of the ministry's website has been launched, informs LETA/BNS.

Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius says the step is aimed at boosting cooperation between Lithuania and Poland, as well as enhancing mutual understanding.

"Lithuania and Poland share centuries of history, culture and close relations between people. Today the friendship between Lithuania and Poland is consolidated by a shared stance on challenges and the determination to implement strategic projects in fields energy, transport, etc. Therefore, we must know each other even better, speak about the issues that concern us and pool our efforts to achieve strategic objectives," said Linkevicius.

The minister expressed hope that the Polish-language version of the website would become yet another alternative source of information for Lithuanian citizens of Polish origin.

Before the latest addition, the ministry's website was available in the Lithuanian, English, Russian and French languages.
