BC, Vilnius, 02.04.2015.Print version
Use of robotic technologies, microprocessors, 3D printers and nanotechnologies will create tremendous economic value in our future industry and will radically change productivity, distribution of income, our welfare and environment, said Lithuanian Minister of Economy Evaldas Gustas on Thursday during a conference at the Integrated Science, Studies and Business Centre (Valley) Santaka in Kaunas city, cites LETA/ELTA.

"Innovations radically change our social and economic life. Innovations in industry, service sectors and technological changes mean vitality or even survival for businesses. It is namely innovations that drive businesses today; a company's success is very much dependent on application of technologies," the minister said.

The conference participants also discussed the importance of five Integrated Science, Studies and Business Centres (Valleys) of Lithuania.

Valley means concentration (totality of entities) of the capacities in research, studies and knowledge-intensive business generally in one area, with common or interrelated infrastructure, geared towards building knowledge economy and thus enhancing Lithuania's economic competitiveness.

These Centres were established with the purpose of strengthening business and science partnerships, developing scientific research and technologies bases and increasing the efficiency of their application. High tech companies are encouraged to get established in the Valleys and work hand in hand with Lithuania's scientists. Valleys that work on future technologies will occupy their niche, will be competitive and become leaders in the region.
