Data from Statistics Estonia show that the yearly rise in the price of the consumer basket slowed to 1.6% in January. Consumer prices were 0.4% lower in January than they were in December. The fall in prices over the month was due to cheaper electricity and garments and footwear. Prices for those goods fell by more than the usual seasonality in January. Inflation for services remained fast though, as many companies adjusted their prices at the start of the year.

Estonia: In 2019, trade stayed at the same level as in 2018

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2019, compared to 2018, the exports of goods stayed at the same level and imports decreased by 1%. The substantial increase in trade in the first half of the year compensated for the decrease in the second half.

Viking XPRS to not operate on Tallinn-Helsinki route this weekend due to technical issue

A technical failure was detected on the Finnish shipper Viking Line's Viking XPRS ferry, which operates on the Tallinn-Helsinki route, and the vessel will be docked from Friday to Sunday this week, informed LETA/BNS.
